Flashing + Erasing
The BASE system uses a simple firmware update method using UF2 drag-and-drop via USB thanks to the nRF52840 microcontroller and the Adafruit bootloader.
1. We can use this to install the Meshtastic firmware and update to newer releases
2. Meshtastic has also provided an Erase UF2 that will allow you to wipe your device and install firmware from scratch.
For each of these procedures you will need:
- your device connected with a USB cable
- the correct UF2 file which can be found on the official Meshtastic Web Flasher
1. Flashing Firmware
We recommend using the latest Stable (Beta) versions and these are the version that we support.

2. Performing a Full Erase
Only needed when you are experiencing an issue and want to go back to default settings. You will loose any stored personal data such as encryption keys, contact list, device settings, etc.
Browser must support Web Serial API (such as Chrome, Edge, Opera, Firefox)
To use the web-based serial monitor, otherwise you can use a terminal window and connect to erase manually.
