Battery Compatibility and Charge Settings

Base boards are designed to work with many battery options to provide flexibility for your specific needs and battery availability in your local region.

Battery selection requirements:

  • Capable of receiving 500mA of charge current
  • We highly recommend using a 3 pin battery with NTC thermistor (10K,  β = 3435K) for thermal protection.
  • Connector is 3 pin Molex PicoBlade (1.25mm pitch)
  • Chemistry supported: Li-ion/LiPo and LFP/LiFePO4

There are three solderable jumpers available to configure your system.

FOR ADVANCED USERS ONLY
Please be careful using these jumpers as incorrect configuration can damage your board and your battery which can result in a fire risk.
  • Fast Charge jumper:
    • Default (open circuit) max 500mA charge current
    • Bridge to set 1A max charge current for your Li-ion or LiPo battery
  • LFP jumper:
    • Bridge to set charge voltage cutoff for LFP batteries and default 1A charge current
  • NTC Bypass jumper:
    • Bridge to bypass all thermal protections on the board
    • You are responsible for ensuring your battery is in the correct thermal operating window
