Upgrade your antenna to this flexible whip design.
Improves performance, measured SWR of 1.3 compared with the stock stubby antenna at an SWR of 3.5.
SWR is a measure of transmission efficiency, how much power from the LoRa radio makes it out into the world via the antenna.
- SWR 1.3 = 98% efficient
- SWR 3.5 = 69% efficient
Connection is SMA Male.

These whip antennas are pretty good for the price. I tested all four that I bought with a Nano VNA-H4, and the SWR was consistent between 1.1 and 1.3, depending on the frequency. For perspective, the antennas that came with two major suppliers of Meshtastic gear had an SWR of 1.6 and 1.8, respectively, for their “stock” antennas.
My wife and I will typically hike together but sometimes, especially with a larger group or when backpacking, end up outside of yelling distance. I discovered Meshtastic devices as a lightweight and less-expensive (and potentially more reliable?) alternative to satellite comm devices so decided to give it a shot. The stubby antenna that came with the Heltec v3 was pretty much garbage, so I decided to give this one a shot. Yesterday, while meeting up with her for a PCT section hike resupply, I was able to reach her when she was about 2 miles away as the crow flies - and that was with tons of trees in the way (LongSlow preset). I'm impressed :-)
Bought a batch of these and they all tested between 1.1 & 1.5 swr at ~906Mhz. Can't ask for much better consistency & quality.
This is a great antenna and allows me to perform in areas where others failed to perform. Thank you
Quality built antenna and helped my T Deck Rx and rx much more efficiently.
