This is my first experience with Muzi and Meshtastic. Node was easy to figure out and was easy for a newbie.
Looks great, love the button interface as I don't have to press and hold. The display is bright enough for outdoors and can be turned down if needed. I have some ham experience and setting these up are easy, you just have to learn the Meshtastic app to get these going which takes a bit of time but you quickly get the hang of it. FYI, I ended up buying these because @HamRadioCrashCourse on YouTube recommended it. I reached out to him directly on Discord HRCC and he immediately recommended these.
The case feels cheap, a few areas needed cleanup, navigation button ring wiggles a bit in place which doesn’t feel great, and the display has horizontal line shadowing on max brightness. When I purchased, it didn’t originally say soldering was needed, but I got through it. I think the bones are great, compass heading works well once calibrated. Included antenna seems competent so far. The instructional videos were very helpful. The display size is very nice, but wish it could handle max brightness without issue and had a higher quality case.
All said, it’s a good device with some caveats.
I got three of the Super Base's as soon as they came out. My son and and I have been using them around town, and I have even been able to take them out of sate to play with. They work, and the interface to send messages is good. Not like an old T9 texting on your phone.
I have noticed that when I have my nodes turned off and I am charging them, the charging light does not come on. It only comes on when the node itself is on.
I also dropped my orange node from about 2 feet onto my kitchen floor. It was in its case, but still broke a small piece off of the front top corner. I plan on filling it in with something to help keep moister out of it.
Other then those two things, they have been working fine for me for the past month.
Oder two of these. One the screen didn’t light up muzztwo of these. One the screen didn’t light up and they responded promptly.
