Great entrance into an alternate network. Simple to use, easy to deploy, creative in the options we can choose. An important advance in privacy, autonomy, and resilience. Well done.
Very well made and has survived multiple drops of ~5ft. The battery life has been 4-5 days. (Significantly better than other models I’ve used.) I‘m recommending this model to all my friends.
I also recommend getting the belt clip holster as well.
Holds it's electric charge for many days and is very easy to carry on a belt with the matching holster.
Nice design, good reception as you would expect. Only downside is the bluetooth range is really poor. I can easily connect to my other meshtastic devices in the hallway from my office (like 3m away with a wall in between), this does not connect at all. Guess it is meant for carrying on your person only.
I bought an R1 and an H1 to get started with Meshtastic. I couldn't be more happy with these devices. The R1 is easy to use, easy to flash firmware, and is comfortable to carry. I will likely convert this one into a fixed node at my house to improve coverage in my area with an external antenna and a small solar panel. This is 100% going to become my new hobby for a while!
