A well-conceived and meticulously designed case for the RAK boards. Its diminutive size aligns with the concept of “disappearing in the pocket.” The absence of a screen and on-device GPS enables these units to endure a week on a single charge.
While I commend the design, I believe the manufacturers should consider transitioning away from PLA for enhanced durability. PLA exhibits a tendency to soften and warp at relatively low temperatures in comparison to PETG, PCTG, ASA, and ABS. Utilizing a different filament would provide improved durability in warm climates and enhance the ability of the device to withstand the heat in a hot car.
I never recieved my device , when I reached out to Muzi , they expalned why the use USPS and stated that the package was delivered. I have been looking for this package for almost a month now. I don't blam Muzi for lost package but I don't blame them for not taking a ownership over this issue. I will keep looking for it my device even though I know Ive lost out
Thee R1 unit is a rugged unit with outstanding performance and low power usage, I am using it in the mountains of west North Carolina with great results.
I am using a solar charger with it, I recommend keeping the unit warm in sub freezing weather.
Easy to use and understand. Attached antenna yielded a 1.23 SWR. Easy to carry in my pocket. May get another one.
Handy device I can carry with me all the time, yet still decent radio transmission power to reach with fellow Meshers :). Some imperfections on the case, but that's what made it a 3D printed gadget, not one of those from the factory. Did I mention I love the design? :)
