The delivery was swift and the packaging completely protecting the device. Charging was quick and the device is flashed with the most recent official release from Meshtastic. Connectivity to the Webflasher and the iOS App was flawless. I am so happy to have such a well constructed and capable device to begin my Meshtastic journey. Thank you MuziWorks it is rare to find a product which is worth every cent/penny. I look forward to my next purchase with you.
This is my 3rd Meshtastic node. I opted for the R1 with the external antenna as I'm a ham and somewhat familiar with RF. Speaking of which, I used my NanoVNA to analyze the SWR match on the antenna that came with the R1. It was 1.2:1, which is pretty darn good. So good, I ordered an additional antenna to use on my T-Deck.
I used the small slot on the top of the R1 to put a key chain ring thru and I attached a carabiner to it. I put it up near the top of a helipad overlooking the city we have at work.
I can hit this node from my house, which is 15 miles away. Not directly, but thru a couple of hops.
As I type this, 36 hours after putting it up and just running on the stock battery without any external power, my battery level is still at 90%. I think this would do very well as a solar powered node.
The case - very well made and everything fits together fairly solid. There's no loose parts or anything that rattles.
I'll probably get another one to keep on my backpack that'll go everywhere with me.
My only complaint: I wish there was a waterproof version of this case. Not submersible, but sealed off from the rain. I think some type of cap on the bottom would do the trick and maybe a seal around the SMA connector.
Customer service was fast. I had a question about the unit and got a quick answer.
Small. Long lasting battery, great range. I bought 2 of them
Worked out of the box, print is great on both devices, and cannot recommend enough.
Easy ordering process and shipped via USPS. I received within few days and after unboxing had it configured/paired to my phone. The sweet surprise was nice too!
