Took it for my first adventure and found the entire R1 and Meshtastic to be fiddly, complicated, and unimpressive. I'm never going to use these again. $360 in the trash for four of them.
I’m very new to the mesh network, but I’ve been very impressed with this little radio. Sleek case design that slips easily into a pocket, excellent battery life, and very good range with the longer antenna. No complaints so far!
Great entrance into an alternate network. Simple to use, easy to deploy, creative in the options we can choose. An important advance in privacy, autonomy, and resilience. Well done.
Very well made and has survived multiple drops of ~5ft. The battery life has been 4-5 days. (Significantly better than other models I’ve used.) I‘m recommending this model to all my friends.
I also recommend getting the belt clip holster as well.
Holds it's electric charge for many days and is very easy to carry on a belt with the matching holster.
