This was easy to put together and runs for days on the battery.
Heltec Mesh Node T114 with Display is just what I needed to get me started with Meshtastic. I regret skipping the kit that includes a battery. It would be nice if it came with a pigtail for the battery and solar connectors. I ordered a Molex Picoblade pigtail, we'll see if it is a match.
When I reached out to Simon for support after Helene ripped through my Western NC county, he rushed me a box of T114s to provide to my counties relief efforts!
We went from having no nodes to having over 100 nodes we are working on positioning, as repeaters, around the county.
My 1st responders learned they need more then cellphones and internet based radio systems... With the help of Simon, and Muzi Works, we are working to provide them backups to their backup comms. P.A.C.E planning is on the tip of many tongues post-Helene.
this is an awesome little device
Had to file away some irregularities in the 3D print to make buttons work, instructions for flashing new firmware were incorrect (must hold down small button to enter storage device mode, drag and drop firmware file; online flasher does not work with this device). I don't recommend the stubby antenna, get the whip. Overall a nice, convenient package for mobile use.
